Throughout the year, Fr. Jordan has classes available for the continuing education of adults. Parishoners will also sponsor fellowships to discuss scripture and other topics related to our spiritual growth. As the times and topics for these classes change from year to year, please refer to the Monthly Newsletter and Weekly Bulletin for updates. Ministries generally include the following:

  • Orthodox Campus Fellowship, University of Texas.
  • Women's Morning Bible Study - usually meets at church or at someone's house, and usually lasts two hours.
  • Men's Fellowship - Meets for lunch the third Tuesday of each month. Occasionally meets for movie night.
  • Adult Bible Study Class - Usually held either after Wednesday Paraklesis (around 7:00 PM) or Saturday Vespers (around 6:00 PM) and officiated by Fr. Jordan himself.
  • Adult Catechumenate Classes - Usually held in the fall prior to Nativity, or in the Spring prior to Pascha, to prepare adults for baptism and / or chrismation into the Holy Orthodox Church.
  • Seniors Fellowship - This is a relatively new ministry, and it focuses on providing seniors with an opportunity to meet, go on pilgrimages to Holy Archangels (men's) Monastery or St. Paraskevi (women's) monastery close by, and other activities.
  • Annual Retreats - we fly in a guest speaker who speaks on various topics of Orthodox spirituality. The retreat usually lasts a weekend and involves eating and praying as well. These retreats are usually for adults only, although in past years child care has been provided by volunteers from the parish community.
